# Check device compatibility

> Check eSIM support and carrier-lock status before you buy.

Your phone needs both eSIM support and an unlocked status to use SimSIM.

## Check in the app

1. Open **Shop** and open the plan you want to buy.
2. Continue to the plan's checkout screen.
3. If the app confirms that your current device supports eSIM, a compatibility banner appears above the order details.
4. Tap the banner to open **Check your device** and review the result.
5. Confirm that your phone is not carrier-locked before completing the purchase.

The app checks the device you are currently using. If the compatibility banner does not appear, use the manual checks below or contact support before buying.

## Check your carrier-lock status

* On iPhone, open **Settings → General → About** and look for **Network Provider Lock: No SIM restrictions**.
* On Android, open **Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks** and look for an unlocked status. Menu names vary by manufacturer.

A carrier-locked phone may reject a SimSIM profile even when the model supports eSIM. Contact your mobile provider if the device shows a lock or restriction.

<Warning>
  Check compatibility before purchasing and installing. If you are unsure, contact support before you scan or install the eSIM.
